Terms of Service

The terms governing use of this website and our investigative research services.

Effective date: placeholder — confirm before launch. These terms are a starting template and should be reviewed by counsel.

Acceptance of these terms

By using this website or submitting an inquiry, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

No professional relationship from an inquiry

Submitting an inquiry does not establish an investigator-client, attorney-client, or other professional relationship. A relationship begins only when we accept a matter in writing and an engagement is executed.

Case acceptance

All requests are reviewed for a lawful and authorized purpose. We may decline any request, at our discretion, that does not meet our compliance and ethical standards, and we are not required to explain a declination in detail.

Client representations

You represent that the information you provide is accurate, that you have a lawful purpose and appropriate authority for the requested research, and that you will not use any findings for stalking, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, identity theft, unauthorized surveillance, or any other unlawful activity.

Permissible use of findings

Findings are provided for the specific matter described in the engagement. They are not consumer reports and may not be used for employment, housing or tenancy, credit, insurance, or other consumer eligibility decisions. Findings may not be resold, republished, or redistributed without our written consent.

No guaranteed outcome

Investigative outcomes depend on record availability, the accuracy of the starting information, jurisdiction, elapsed time, and case complexity. We do not guarantee that any subject will be located or that any particular information will be found.

Scope, fees, and changes

Each engagement is governed by a written scope and fee. Work outside that scope requires your written approval before it is performed.

Confidentiality

We treat client matters as confidential and expect clients to protect delivered reports accordingly. Reports should not be forwarded outside the matter without a legitimate need.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from an engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Website content

Site content is provided for general information and is not legal advice. We may update the site at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Confirm this provision with counsel before launch.
